That Prius had the … That Prius had the latest hybrid technology, and Quantum provided the latest 10,000 psi high pressure carbon fiber tank - and still could only get 80 miles. Now we know why that car literally didn’t go very far.
LOL! The oil … LOL! The oil companies are promoting H2 fuel, as they have the cheapest source and intend to sell that profitable fuel. All I’ve stated is simple facts and straightforward analysis. It explains why that “hydrogen chevy” didn’t didn’t go very far.
I prefer the latest plug-in electrics, as they go much her and really scare the oil companies!
If backyard … If backyard mechanics can do it, industry can do it better. So why havnt they been?? Its now 2008. The cars that are getting produced get worse mpg than they did back in the 80’s. Whats up?

I was both jazzed … I was both jazzed and saddened by this vid. Jazzed because Jack would be the perfect spokesperson EVER for H2!! But sad because, when was this from 1975?? Way ahead of his time…and yet still…we have barely done ANYTHING in 30 plus years. BOO! to big oil. BOO! to Bush.
@Ceriman, Geeeee … @Ceriman, Geeeee Ceriman it’s all about the fact that this was filmed in 1978! (as can be read in the description). Of course the technique is better now and it is possible to get a higher efficiency. When we had listen to guru Jack, the world could look different than it’s now, couldn’t it? It’s okay to promote Quantum, but let’s see things in perspective.
Bad idea, a waste … Bad idea, a waste of expensive solar generated electricity. Never mentioned is the limited range on hydrogen. A Prius converted by Quantum to run on hydrogen gets only 80 miles per tank. This old chevy gets much lower milage, so I’d estimate a range of 30 miles per tank - 35, if you drive cautiously.
